Volunteers assist their communities during emergencies as an extension of the Department of Health. This includes health related emergencies such as natural disasters, severe weather, hazardous conditions, and mass casualties.
The volunteers are provided free training on emergency preparedness and response.
Community members with and without medical training are encouraged to volunteer.
There are some health and training requirements in order to become a volunteer. Here is a list of the requirements. Some of these may be waived temporarily during an emergency.
If you have any questions about the MRC program, please call the Livingston County Department of Health: 585-243-7299.
