GENESEO, N.Y., Nov. 8, 2022 — Highlighting the County’s commitment to the professional development of its workforce, several County employees were among recent graduates of the United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes Leadership Development Programs.

The County graduates from the organization’s Emerging Leaders Development Program include Katelyn Gelser, Human Resources Benefits Specialist; James Kemnitz, Assistant Public Defender in the Public Defender's Office; and Megan Sokolow, Records Inventory Supervisor in the Records Management Department. The Emerging Leaders Development Program focuses on the development and application of effective leadership skills, according to the program’s website.

“The training was outstanding and I know all three of us really appreciated the County's support for our attendance,” said Gelser. “I look forward to using the lessons learned to continue my professional growth and enhance services to the County and its residents.”

The program consisted of five intensive eight-hour sessions focused on the development and application of effective leadership skills and competencies in an individual’s personal, professional, and public service pursuits. Livingston County remains dedicated to the personal and professional development of County employees by encouraging training programs like this and, most recently, through the creation of a new Training and Professional Development department. The department is responsible for County-wide training, learning and development activities that align with the County’s strategic plan and various human resources and administrative initiatives.
