AVON, N.Y., Feb. 7, 2023 — The Avon Central School District (CSD) recently donated more than $1,000 to the Livingston County Veteran’s Services Department to help support local veterans throughout the County.
The school district raised the funds from the proceeds of its Veterans Day 5K run. Avon CSD High School Principal Ryan Wagner presented the donation to County Veteran Services Director David Terry during a recent board of education meeting. All told, the school raised $1,351 during their inaugural 5K event, which the County Veteran office will use for outreach and support efforts for current and former military personnel in Livingston County.
“We are very grateful for the generous support of the school and community,” said Terry. “This donation will help us to continue providing important services and resources for our area veterans. Thank you to everyone who participated in the event and helped raise these funds.”
