Board of Supervisors Proclaims March 3, 2023 as Employee Appreciation Day in Livingston County

GENESEO, N.Y., Mar. 3, 2023 – The Livingston County Board of Supervisors has proclaimed March 3, 2023 to be Employee Appreciation Day in Livingston County.  Additionally, the County plans to celebrate the dedication and passion of its workforce throughout the week of March 6th.

“Our employees are steadfast in their commitment to our County, its residents and our communities,” said David L. LeFeber, Chair of the Livingston County Board of Supervisors.   “Our staff continually champions impactful initiatives and innovative projects that are routinely being recognized by their peers at local, regional and national levels.  I thank them for the dedication and passion they bring in enriching our County and bettering the lives of our residents.”

As part of a week-long recognition event, members of the Board of Supervisors and department leaders will participate in a series of events throughout the week that emphasize appreciation and gratitude.  The County will also sponsor a Staff Appreciation and Recognition (STAR) luncheon for employees and a special ceremony will take place on March 8th at the Board of Supervisors meeting.  All planned events recognize the hard work and dedication shown throughout the County’s workforce.

“I’m grateful to the Board of Supervisors and County Administration for recognizing this national day locally,” added Livingston County Director of Human Resources, Kate Hill.   “The Human Resources Department has been working hard to plan events that recognize the brilliant work that our employees do on a daily basis across all departments.  Our employees provide vital services that make Livingston County a great place to work and live.”

Employee Appreciation Week is just the latest innovative program and initiative that the County has implemented in an effort to attract and retain highly motivated and skilled employees.  In addition to reaching a new collective bargaining agreement with the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA), the County has recently added to its benefits packages, altered its residency policies, expanded professional development opportunities and more.
