MOUNT MORRIS, N.Y., April 17, 2023 — The second annual Al Lorenz Park Family Fest returns again this year on Saturday, May 20th, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the County’s own Al Lorenz Park in Mount Morris.

The family-friendly celebration is free and open to the public. The day will include games, live music, a youth fishing derby, 1K family fun run, food trucks, classic cars, prizes and more. The event is hosted by Livingston County and was created by leaders there to highlight the County-owned Al Lorenz Park, including its new trails, playgrounds, and other amenities.

“We encourage all our residents to get out and enjoy this recreational jewel here on Murray Hill in Mount Morris,” said County Administrator Ian M. Coyle. “We’re bringing back our youth fishing derby and basketball spot shooting challenge, which were big hits last year. We’ve added a park-wide scavenger hunt, a tree planting, and more games and prizes to really make this a day to remember for families in our community.”

Organizers recommend festival guests park in the lot at the top of Murray Hill across from the County’s Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation or by the Department of Social Services and Department of Health. Signage will direct visitors as they enter the campus.  A shuttle service will be available to bring attendees in and out of the park beginning at 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The shuttle will run between stops approximately every 15 minutes. The event will take place rain or shine.

Family Fest will coincide with the annual Livingston County Safety and Wellness Fair, hosted by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Livingston County and Genesee Valley Health Partnership, at the County’s adjacent Murray Hill Campus from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Organizers encourage Family Fest visitors to attend both events for a full day of family fun with Livingston County.
