GENESEO, N.Y., May 17, 2023 – The Livingston County Board of Supervisors has proclaimed the week of May 15-20, 2023 as National Skilled Nursing Care Week across the County in celebration of Older Americans Month.
With more Americans living longer, the need for high level, quality care is critically important. National Nursing Skilled Nursing Care Week is dedicated to celebrating the skilled nursing care professionals who provide essential services to seniors throughout our communities.
“Livingston County has some of the most outstanding skilled care facilities in New York State and beyond,” said Livingston County Administrator, Ian Coyle. “The work they do on a daily basis and the services they provide have helped to enrich the lives of so many while ensuring that our senior populations receive the highest levels of care and support. We are appreciative of their dedication and expertise.”
Locally, the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is one of the largest facilities located within a 10-county footprint, the CNR offers a variety of services that have become indispensable throughout the County and beyond as the percentage of residents over the age of 65 continues to increase. One of the most comprehensive facilities in the region and beyond, the Center offers various treatment methods and state-of-the-art healthcare options ranging from audiology, consulting podiatry, dentistry, speech therapy, ophthalmology, occupational therapy, pharmacological services, physician services, individualized healthcare plans, bariatric care, hair care and more.
Furthermore, the CNR offers memory care for Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia disorders and provides extended stay and transitional care services including gastrostomy, tracheostomy, IV, PICC, stroke rehabilitation and advanced wound care.
