GENESEO, N.Y., Aug. 3, 2023 – In an effort to meet changing demands and expand opportunities, Livingston County Human Resources has announced that it will administer continuous recruitment civil service exams on Saturday, August 19, 2023.
Continuous recruitment exams are administered and scored locally by the County. These include openings for account clerk, account clerk/typist, caseworker trainee, clerk, clerk/typist, custodian, library aide, medical typist, senior typist, telephone operator and water and wastewater treatment plant operator/trainee. These positions are ideal for someone looking to start their career or embark down a new career path and provide an excellent opportunity for advancement and professional development.
The deadline to apply to take these tests is Wednesday, August 9. The examination fee is $10 and must be paid in cash, money order, certified check or cashier’s check at the time of application. The fee will be waived for any veteran that submits a copy of their DD214 Member 4 form at the time of application.
“Finding time to take a civil service exam can be challenging,” added Kate Hill, Human Resources Director. “Historically, these have only been offered on Wednesday mornings. With the nature of work and personal schedules, Livingston County recognizes the need to offer an alternative testing day. By offering the test on a Saturday, it is our hope that interested, qualified candidates will have the opportunity to explore one of the many exciting opportunities with municipalities, school districts, County departments and public entities throughout Livingston County.”
Exams will be given at the Government Center located at 6 Court Street in Geneseo, which serves as a convenient location in the center of the County. Additionally, exams will be scored immediately, which will allow individuals to receive their scores much more quickly. As a result, potential employers will be able to have access to qualified candidates and fill vacancies sooner.
