GENESEO, N.Y., Dec. 21, 2023 — The Livingston County Youth Bureau is currently seeking Requests for Proposals for the County’s Youth Sports and Education Opportunity Infrastructure Funding program and Youth Sports Team Funding program. The deadline to submit a proposal is 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.
The County will contract with local 501(c) 3 tax-exempted, non-profit organizations for a combined amount of $36,641. Funding may provide general operating dollars to give programs flexibility to efficiently allocate resources for quality programming. Eligible expenses include one-time investments in infrastructure for physical activity including improvements to fields or courts, building storage facilities to maintain equipment, the purchase of sporting equipment or uniforms or similar costs. Additionally, funding for youth sports may include coaches, instructors, direct service staff/mentors, fees for officials/referees, purchase of uniforms, capital investment, instruction or coaching necessary to support youths’ ability to participate in a team sport.
In order to meet all funding requirements, programs must provide structured sports activities for youth in Livingston County between the ages of 6-17. Additionally, all programs must be in good standing with the New York State Charities Bureau, demonstrate basic competency in the areas of governance, monitoring and evaluation, partnership and financial stewardship and must have a child protection policy in place that includes adherence to local, agency, school district and state child protection guidelines. Furthermore, all programs must have the ability to collect registration data including participant demographic information as required by OCFS in such a fashion as to be able to accurately report anonymized aggregate data.

All proposals must be received by Livingston County before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. They must be submitted in a sealed envelope with “RFP-2024 Sports Opportunity/Team Sports Funding” written in the lower left-hand corner and have original signatures and dates. One original and one copy of the proposal must be submitted to:
